Merry Christmas to You and Yours!
I think it's safe to say that 6 years later, Warden & Abby are still our favourite presents to ourselves ever. We actually adopted them on Boxing Day so I guess they were our best deal ever.
PS: I've been having issues with Disqus for the past while and I would see positive comment counts but was unable to view them. I've since re-synced the comments so hopefully I won't be ignoring anyone from now on. My apologies!

Meow
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY! How's your weekend going?
Mine has been semi-productive so far. Finally have blinds (instead of revealing sheers!) in the guest bathroom, thanks to the wonderful husband who's also done loads and loads of laundry. We went with faux-wood blinds that remind me of California shutters but at a fraction of the price - I'll have to post a pic sometime.
Also finished taping up the guest bathroom in preparation for painting. I hope to have it done tomorrow but then again, that's what I've been saying all week. But I am really really excited for this reveal because the dark vanity turned out fantastic!
But for now...it's time to lounge on the couch and spend some quality time watching these two cuties be cute:
Little Abigail (Abby) and her boyfriend Warden. I still don't understand how they stayed at the shelter for so long, because we sure couldn't resist them! Four years later, we're still so in love with these two.

Our Babies
Can't believe I haven't shared a photo of our babies yet. I know we can't be the only childless couple out there that treats their pets like kids.
I just want to cuddle my cats all day long and they want to have none of it. I can see this is a glimpse into my life as the parent of teenage kids. "Ew, stop hugging me, mom!" I can hear it clearly.
Cam and I adopted Warden and Abigail (Abby) from the Humane Society three years ago on Boxing Day. We knew we wanted a bonded pair because I always felt like my childhood cat was lonely when everyone was out, plus we knew that pairs were far less likely to be adopted and needed a fair chance at a new life, too.
Warden and Abby had been at the pound since March, living in the same little cage together. Warden came in at 18 pounds, already overweight, and by the time we adopted him he was 30 pounds! Obviously, our little tubby needed some space as did his girlfriend before he accidentally rolls over on her one day! You had to actually look into the cage to realize there was actually a second cat in there.
Anyway, that's the story of our babies. Hopefully we'll be adding an English bulldog into the mix somewhere down the line. And eventually, some human babies (yikes!).
