I'm saddened by the news of Alexander McQueen's passing. When my coworker told me this morning, I was surprised but not shocked. I always thought the volitility of McQueen's emotions was behind the fantastical and epic pieces he created. His passion - good and bad - fueled his work.
It is tragic that he felt the pain of reality too great to bear. However, perhaps this was the most fitting way for the man to go, by his own hand, on his own terms. He has always been his own person, never going down someone else's path, never following the crowd. He felt it was his time to go and so be it.
All I can say is...Rest In Peace.
