It's Simple

I've come to terms with the fact that I've become completely boring. I love seeing chic ladies on the streets dressed in bright bold patterns, a gazillion layers, interesting shapes. It seems so cool but at the same time, like it would take really long to plan out and put together.

As much as I enjoy the visual effects of those looks, this is what I'm dreaming of these days. Classic, unobtrusive, and simple.

I do like the idea of keeping a little "funk" in there with some animal print, a bling necklace, or red lips but that's about it. Fussy outfits with a lot going on just don't belong in the fall season for me.

  1. I'm the same way; I like to keep my wardrobe simple. I mostly wear black, so most of my colour comes from make-up. I'll rock pretty much any colour on my eyes and lips. In accessories, the only colour I get is really from scarves, though I'm trying to get into the coloured pants trend (I have one pair of red jeggings, which is pretty daring for me, lol!). I am seriously coveting Proenza Schouler's PS1 bag in a midnight blue right now, though...

My day to day outfit doesn't differ much from yours with the exception of the tailored trousers. I wear jeans most days. Leopard print is so versatile, a great neutral but it also adds a nice pop of texture to a monochrome outfit. I wear my leopard print flats a lot when it's done raining.

Oh man.....accessories are the death of me. I really want a new purse, too. : ( And good on you for buying red jeggings! I bought hot pink pants recently. Not sure if I have to guts to wear them but BUYING them was the first step. Lol!

I wish we could wear jeans to the office! Some of the things people wear to the workplace are way more casual than a pair of skinny or trouser jeans. I used to HATE leopard print but I agree, it's a really nice pop without going overboard....I've come to love it. :)

I love basic shapes and colours! so much easier to dress yourself! I am likely WAY more boring than you- no leopard shoes in my closet!

  6. I love everything here, Lindsay! It's not boring at all. They're the building blocks for every working woman's wardrobe. I love fashion but am a lazy dresser. You've inspired me to pull out my giraffe patterned flats and work a few other things that have been neglected in the closet. :D

Me, too. The uberbloggers make it seem so effortless but I'm pretty sure it would take me a whole day to look "perfect" like them. BTW, the giraffe flats sound so cute!!
