Cake Porn

My wedding cake will probably be very simple. Just 1-2 layers of chocolate or vanilla cake with white icing. I may bring a cake topper and some simple decorations. I love beautiful cakes but in my experience, they're barely touched during the wedding and I just can't justify spending hundreds to upgrade the one that comes with our wedding package at the resort.

It's okay, though. Looking at this cake porn gives me the fix I need.

  1. My cake was devoured at my wedding, and I didn't get a slice of the chocolate tier. =(
Recommend just getting yourself and your Mr. a special cake to share for an anniversary, if you don't think most people will appreciate it. There are tons (TONS) of great "cake-ists" in this fine city that can combine deliciousness with artful design.

I got a NakedPeggies cake topper and it was one of my favourite details of my wedding.

  2. Our cake was a simple white cake I think it took me 2mins to pick out it was $75. I just knew it would go to waste so I wasn't worried about how fancy it was. And I was right it did go to waste. Instead we put the $500 cake budget into the bar to keep our guest happy and dancing everyone had a great night! So I agree with you on this one.

  3. That's awesome! In that case, it's money well spent.

I really like the idea of getting a special cake for our anniversary. Something small but ridiculously good. Thanks for the suggestion!

I also just googled NakedPeggies and thanks again for the suggestion! I may try doing a topper myself using this concept. Keep em coming! ;)

  4. Exactly what we're doing - we're upping the bar from the "domestic" bar which is local Dominican Republic rum, beer, and house wine to the "premium" bar which comes with your usual suspects - Jack, Absolut, Smirnoff, etc. Even if no one else is gonna be taking advantage of the bottomless bottles, I will! I'm sure gonna need it if anyone expects me to dance...

i saw a tv show about making those - so long process, somehow throwing off from eating it later.

  7. I love these images. My engagement & wedding happened so quickly that I had no time to think of blog documentation.

We did save a piece of our traditional wedding cake but had a freezer fail a couple of months ago so I am thinking of getting a mini-version of our cake made up. We didn't get to taste the White wedding cake but every one assures us it was yummy!

Definitely think about the wedding topper. Ours now has pride of place on display in the living room :)
