Jaws

I am in love with the work of Camilla Skovgaard, who has really blown up in the last few years. Although she's a relative newcomer into the "IT" group of high end shoes, her circum vitae is quiet impressive.

Did you know she moved to Dubai at the age of 20 to design shoes for Sheikhs' wives and daughters for 7 years? And Saks Fifth Avenue picked up her first collection while she was still a student at the Royal College of Art in London?

Her esthetics are along the same lines as Ann Demeulemeester, Rick Owens, and Jil Sanders. Very architectural and futuristic. But at the same time, she has a very distinct style. With the exception of a few basic stilettos and flats, her "saw" soled shoes are so unique and instantly recognizable.

More eye candy below....

  1. She was just on Gilt!! I was so incredibly tempted. I especially love them in the nude shades because it's the perfect mix of feminine and crazy.

  2. Yes, they are very nice to look at, very architectural. I have heard that they are extremely uncomfortable, though. But it seems that all high-end shoe designers have comfort low on the priority list, even women designing for women.

  7. Everyone talks about how their designer heels are much more comfortable, even when the shoes in question are 5 inch pointy toed Louboutins. I agree with you....comfort is definitely not on the priority list. I've resigned myself to the fact that pretty shoes are not comfortable. That's what flats and wedges are for. ;)

  9. Those are my favourites, too! I can't get enough of that color and have a whole stash of nail polish and lipgloss in similar shades now. Lol.
