Mary Katrantzou Spring 2012 Ready-To-Wear

Stunning as always. With every collection, Mary Katrantzou surprises and delights me with her bold use of colors, textures, and shapes. The concept driving the Spring 2012 RTW collection was the age old duel of Man vs. Nature. Through her interpretation of this theme, she created a sort of radical cohesiveness. Perhaps that is what it's all about? As much as we clash and fight with nature, we abuse it and destroy it....we also love it, nurture it, and live within and amongst it. Trite as it may be, "can't live with it, can't live without it".
