The Domino Effect

Have you heard yet? Two huge...gigantic..colossal pieces of news dropped this morning.

Here's a hint:

That's right! Domino magazine, the defunct but definitely not forgotten decor magazine with the cult following is coming back!

First, Brides.com Editor-in-Chief Julie Raimondi announced that with the launch of their redesigned website, Brides.com has also been granted access to past articles from the "late, great Domino magazine". As of this evening, there are only 22 articles posted so far but Julie has promised that they will be adding pulling more stories from the archives in the weeks and months to come.

If you were a faithful fan who mourned the demise of this wonderful magazine back in 2009 and wished for its resurrection? Your wishes have been granted.

I suggest you bookmark the link below pronto!

Secondly, a special edition issue entitled "Domino Quick Fixes" will be available on newsstands only from April 17 to July 16 for $10.99US.

Per Condé Nast's official news release, "Domino Quick Fixes will be full of Domino’s best home decorating stories, focusing on easy, often inexpensive changes that make a big difference – from quick spruce-ups of dowdy furniture to more involved DIY projects like painting stairs or reorganizing a home office."

So far, a second issue is scheduled for the fall, but I'm crossing my fingers that the power of Domino's fan-base in all its renewed fervor will push Condé Nast to consider a more permanent and frequent arrangement.

What are your thoughts? Are you just as excited as I am? Did you lament the death of Domino or have you since moved on to e-publications like Adore, Rue, and Lonny?
